Diane DeKorte and the Girls at Clearview Christian Girls School
Diane DeKorte and Clearview Christian Girls School
This special project was a collaberation between art teacher Diane DeKorte and the students at Clearview Christian Girls School.
Diane received her Bachelor in Fine Arts degree from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI in 2003. In addition to working on her own independent projects such as painting, bookmaking and collage, Diane teaches art at Clearview Christian Girls School, and was recently accepted to study abroad at the prestigious Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy.
At Clearview, the staff believes in integrating the curriculum whenever possible. The latest research on the brain shows that learning occurs holistically, and the brain is always seeking connections. Their unique puzzle image features a beautiful Hawaiian image done by Diane, and tessellations (interlocking, repetitive patterns) completed by the students, which involved the integration of mathematics, technology and art.
